How This Scam Works
1
Scammer posts a stolen or AI-generated listing at below-market rent to attract victims quickly.
2
They claim to be traveling, on a mission trip, or relocated, so they cannot show the property in person.
3
They pressure the victim to wire first and last month's rent or a security deposit immediately.
4
After receiving the wire transfer, the scammer disappears. The victim discovers the property was never available.
